Brother Abdul Malik was a former rebellious heavy metal punk musician, whose journey to Islam started from receiving a pamphlet in the street which contained the Arabic script, which caught his attention since he was fascinated with it as a child after seeing it as graphitti on the walls. His story from that day is quite interesting, including how he visited a mosque to learn more...

Looking for love is tough at the best of times and it can be even harder when your pool of potential partners is small. Welcome to the world of being young, single and religious. This is looking for love as it's rarely been seen on TV before - with religion in play there are a whole new set of rules and it can be seriously tough to find 'the one'. Strictly Soulmates takes a fun, entertaining and emotional look at the real life trials and tribulations of a group of singletons trying to find their perfect match from four different religions: Evangelical Christian, Hindu, Muslim and Jewish. If you're young, single and Muslim, you're not actually allowed to date, so finding a partner involves lots of help from mum, dad, auntie and uncle too. We take an engaging look at the highs and lows of three Muslim singletons, who have never even had a relationship before, as they begin their journey's to find 'the one'. As one of our singletons says 'it's a bit like blind date, but your mum is Cilla Black'. 23-year-old Zubair has just graduated from Manchester University. He's planning to move to Pakistan later in the year, but first he wants to find a British Muslim wife to take with him. It doesn't help that he's never even sat down to talk to a girl on his own before, and on top of that he's worried his strict Muslim beard could put some girls off. He's not expecting Angelina Jolie, but will Zubair find himself a wife before he steps on the plane? Naila has just turned 22. As the eldest daughter of the family she is now expected to have an arranged marriage, so her mum is on the hunt. But arranged or not she wants to find the man of her dreams, and preferably one with a beard. After months of searching Nila's mum arranges a formal meeting with a potential husband. But what happens when you reject the boy and his family when you've only met them once, and how do you know what you're looking for in your man when you've never even been out with a boy before. Tabassum - or Dimpy for short - is a 32-year-old who has never had a boyfriend. It's not that she is short of suitors - Dimpy's already turned down 60 potential husbands who haven't measured up to her very long list of priorities in a man. If they're not Muslim, middle class, Pakistani and a doctor, they're not worth considering. Luckily for Dimpy, her cousin and aunt are on hand to deliver a few home truths, but can she take this advice on board and finally find a man?
Venkat Ramakrishnan (Srikanth), Sevarkodi Senthil (Jiiva) and Panchavan Parivendan (Vijay) are three engineering students who share a room in the hostel of Ideal Engineering College (IEC), Chennai. Venkat studies engineering to pursue his father's wishes over his own wish -- to become a wildlife photographer. Senthil studies to get his family out of poverty, while Pari studies engineering for his simple passion in machines and devices. Pari believes that one should follow excellence, not success, as success will take care of itself if excellence is followed. However, this different approach is sneered upon by the dean of the college, Professor Virumandi "Virus" Santhanam (Sathyaraj). Virus and the faculty favour Pari's classmate Srivatsan (Sathyan), also known as "Silencer", believes in mindless memorising over understanding to reach his goals of corporate status. Pari constantly spars with Virus and Srivatsan due to their differences in their educational approaches. Pari falls in love with Virus' daughter Ria (Ileana D'Cruz), a medical student, when he, Venkat and Senthil meet her when they accidentally crash her elder sister Swetha's (Anuya Bhagvath) wedding reception to obtain a free meal. Ria is not impressed with Pari's antics and complains to her father about them. Virus becomes furious with Pari and his friends, labels them as "idiots" and tries to break their friendship, by telling Senthil and Venkat that Pari is a bad influence on them. While Venkat refuses to break his friendship with Pari, Senthil believes Virus and parts with Pari. However, when Pari saves Senthil's father's life, who had suffered a heart attack, by taking him immediately to the hospital where Ria works on the latter's scooter when the ambulance had not come, Senthil reconciles with him. Ria too appreciates Pari's practicality and concern for others and falls in love with him. 3 years later, Pari, Venkat and Senthil break into Virus's house in a drunken state one night to allow Pari to propose to Ria. Venkat and Senthil cause a ruckus and urinate on the front door before fleeing. Virus notices Senthil and the next day, he threatens to rusticates him unless he snitches on Pari. Not wanting to betray his friend or let down his family, Senthil attempts suicide by jumping from Virus' office window and ends up paralysed. Following his recovery, Senthil discards his fear of the future. His frankness impresses the corporate agents during a campus interview and they hire him. Venkat, goaded by his friends, convinces his parents to allow him follow his wildlife photographer dream. Virus later schemes to set an impossibly tough final exam to fail Senthil, as the job offer is contingent on graduation. When Ria learns of her father's plan, she helps Pari and Venkat to leak the question paper by providing them with the keys to her father's office. However, Virus catches them and expels them on the spot. Ria angrily confronts her father, revealing to him that his son (Ria's brother) wanted to be a writer, but was forced to apply for engineering in IEC because of him. As he could not get selected there, he committed suicide. At the same time, Swetha, who is pregnant, goes into labour. A heavy thunderstorm cuts all power and floods the streets, making it impossible for the ambulance to reach Swetha, and Ria is stuck at the hospital, where she had gone for work. Pari, Venkat and Senthil, along with other students from IEC, deliver the baby using the available equipment and the inverter developed by Pari, with Ria instructing him via VoIP. After the newborn baby is apparently stillborn, Pari manages to resuscitate the baby. Virus forgives Pari and his friends, and allows them to write their final exams. After the convocation however, Pari disappears and goes into seclusion. 7 years later, Venkat and Senthil set out on a journey to Ooty to find Pari. They are joined by Srivatsan, who is now a wealthy and successful professional in the USA and is looking to seal a deal with a famous scientist and prospective business associate named Kosaksi Pasapugazh. Srivatsan's main intention in finding Pari is to see whether Pari is more successful than him; they had made a bet 10 years before on who would be more successful with their study approaches. However when they reach Pari's house in Ooty, they find a completely different man: the real Panchavan Parivendan (S. J. Surya). Confronting the real Pari, they find out from him that their friend was actually a destitute servant boy named Pappu. Pappu, who worked in Pari's household, loved learning, while Pari disliked studies. After seeing the boy's intelligence, Pari's father (Ajay Rathnam) agreed to allow Pappu study in Pari's place instead of working as a servant. In return, Pari would pocket Pappu's qualifications and after graduating, Pappu will cease all contact with Pari and his family. Pari reveals that Pappu is now a schoolteacher in Dhanushkodi. Later they find Pari..

Facebook_ http://on.fb.me/1skQ2GK YouTube_ http://bit.ly/1o1wXVy According to the Guinness Book of World Records, Islam is the world's fastest-growing religion by number of conversions each year: "Although the religion began in Arabia, by 2002 80% of all believers in Islam lived outside the Arab world. In the period 1990-2000, approximately 12.5 million more people converted to Islam than to Christianity". Part of the book's quote can be seen online from this excerpt from Google Books. This was again shown in the 2005, 50th anniversary edition of Guinness Book of World Records, although the number of conversions was not mentioned this time. In 1990, 935 million people were Muslims. According to the BBC, a comprehensive American study concluded in 2009 the number stood at approximately 23% of the world population with 60% of Muslims living in Asia. The report was done by the Pew Forum Research Centre. The forum also projected that in 2010 out of the total number of Muslims in the world 62.1% will live in Asia. However the report also included a statement saying "While the global Muslim population is expected to grow at a faster rate than the non-Muslim population, the Muslim population nevertheless is expected to grow at a slower pace in the next two decades than it did in the previous two decades. From 1990 to 2010, the global Muslim population increased at an average annual rate of 2.2%, compared with the projected rate of 1.5% for the period from 2010 to 2030". The report also made reference to the fact that Muslims are estimated to make up 23.4% of the total global population in 2010 (out of a total of 6.9 billion people) and that by 2030 Muslims will represent about 26.4% of the global population (out of a total of 7.9 billion people). The Pew report also highlights that there is insufficient data available on religious conversion from its own findings given the complexities of identity and the difficulties of obtaining data: "Statistical data on conversion to and from Islam are scarce. What little information is available suggests that there is no substantial net gain or loss in the number of Muslims through conversion globally. Islam is Fastest Growing Religion All Over The World Islam in Christian Country

Govindarajan Ramaswamy, a bio-scientist speaks from the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium about the Chaos theory and the Butterfly effect. He begins by reciting events from the 12th century in Chidambaram, when king Kulothunga Chola II, a Saivite, persecutes Vaishnavites and intends to destroy an idol of Govindaraja. Rangarajan Nambi, a Vaishnavite, protects it and offends the king. The king orders Rangarajan to be executed by being submerged into the sea with the idol. In 20 December 2004, a bio-technology lab in the USA designs a virus intended as a bio-weapon. After understanding its potential, Dr. Govind, one of the scientists involved, refuses to give the vial away due to fear of misuse. However, his boss, Dr. Sethu, has other plans and tries to sell it to a terrorist group when Govind flees with it. Christian Fletcher, an ex- CIA, follows him and attempts to seize the vial, when it is air couriered to India by accident. Govind sneaks into the aircraft carrying the virus and changes its location. After arriving in India, he is questioned by Balram Naidu, a RAW operative. Govind unsuccessfully tries to explain the series of incidents. In the meantime, Fletcher, who has married Jasmine, and arrived in India, using her as a translator, threatens Govind and takes him away in a jeep with a police officer. After exiting the city, Govind escapes from Fletcher and reaches Chidambaram. Fletcher follows him, after getting a cab, along with Jasmine. After Govind attempts to persuade the receivers of package carrying the virus, it finds itself inside an idol of Govindaraja. In the chaos, Jasmine is killed . Govind and Andal, who is the granddaughter of Krishnaveni, an old woman for whom the package was sent, try to run away from Fletcher, and arrive in a ground where illegal sand miners are working. They try to rape Andal, but in the fight ensued, Govind defeated the sand miners and they sneak out after the interference of Vincent Boovaragan, a radical Christian, and save a Muslim family of Khalifulla from a car-crash in the process. One of them, a lady, faints suddenly and is taken to a hospital, where Govind procures a cooling box to store the weapon, as it is unstable and its temperature needs to be maintained. He meets Avatar Singh, a pop singer, who is also there for treatment of his throat cancer. He prescribes medicines in a similar-looking box and before leaving the hospital, unknowingly switches places with Govind's box. Fletcher, follows them, takes Andal and the Muslim family as hostage into their house, from where Govind is blackmailed to bring back the box he is carrying. Unable to do anything, he reaches the place, only to find out that Avatar Singh must be having the weapon. The police surround the house, forcing Fletcher, Govind and Andal to flee in a jeep. Shinghen Narahsi, a Japanese martial arts expert, whose sister had been killed by Fletcher, follows them. Avatar Singh finishes his supposedly last performance and finds out the blunder in the box, only to find himself shot by Fletcher after having a row. Govind and Andal flee to reach a construction site, where Govind takes out the weapon before giving the idol to Fletcher. The sun dawns on 26 December 2004. Govind gets an idea from drainage workers to immerse the virus in a large quantity of salt to destroy it. He goes to the sea, only to be stopped by Fletcher. Shinghen Narahasi arrives and fights physically with Fletcher. Both Narahasi and motivated Govind fights the Fletcher together and defeats him, who opens and swallows the virus in humiliation. Suddenly, a tsunami strikes, washing away Fletcher, and causing heavy amounts of destruction to the coast. Poovaragan's house is struck and he dies in a car after saving a child. Andal, Govind and Narahasi get into a boat. Krishnaveni arrives and begins to cry after perceiving Poovaragan as her long-lost son. After relief measures are taken, Andal argues that god had given the tsunami to get rid of the weapon. Govind responds by asking if god would destroy hundreds of lives to save millions. Then the shot zooms back where it is shown that they were talking in front of the idol submerged in the twelfth century. The scene shifts to the stadium, where Avatar Singh, who had his cancerous growth taken away by the shot he received, along with several others, listening to the speech by Govind, followed by former president George Bushbas the credits roll.
